CAROTID SURGERY INSTRUCTIONS

You are not to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery.

Take all heart and blood pressure medicine with a sip of water on the day of surgery.

Stop your coumadin 3 days before surgery. 

Stop your plavix  before surgery (discuss with your Doctor). 

Continue your aspirin including the day of surgery.

Bring a complete list of all your medications with you to the hospital so we can order

the appropriate doses of medication during your hospital stay.
